Registration Rules

PRD consists of two separate applications, PRD Airman Records and Air Carrier, these are two separate applications that synchronizes users between each application. Follow the following rules for registration, failure to do so will result in registration errors and delay in accessing PRD.

Access to the Pilot Records Database is managed through the MyAccess application. MyAccess is the Department of Transportation’s sign-on system for web applications. Users must have an active MyAccess account to log into the Pilot Records Database application. My Access manages user IDs and security questions to control access. Before registering for a PRD or Air Carrier role, the user must register with MyAccess and be accorded an active MyAccess role.

The registration process begins by going to the FAA Pilot Records Database (PRD) page, https://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/pilot_records_database. On this page, the user clicks either the Pilot Access link in the Pilots (Commercial, ATP, or Remote Only section or the Air Carrier Tools link in the Air Carriers, Operators, and Proxies section. From that point, the registration procedure depends on the current registration status of the user and the role access that they are seeking, as described below:

Alternately, you can initiate this process from within the PRD Airman Records portal. Log into the PRD Airman Records portal with your Authorized Consumer role, complete the My Access login, and accept the System Use Notice. On the Select Access Criteria page click the link If you would like to register as a Pilot, Please click here.
